Dr. Kapusianyk was one of the first dentists in the Richmond area doing needle-free laser fillings.  After attending a four day laser conference in San Diego, California in January, 2004 he was sold!  He purchased not only one, but actually three different dental lasers: the Waterlase™ - tooth laser; the LaserSmile - in office accelerated tooth whitening laser; and the DIAGNOdent - cavity detecting laser.  Each laser is very different and has its own special capabilities. 

The Waterlase™ has allowed Dr. Kapusianyk  to complete over 10,000 laser fillings without a needle, or causing the patient any pain or numbness. He quite possibly has completed more needle-free laser fillings than any other dentist in the cities of Richmond or Vancouver.  He also uses it routinely with tooth extractions and root canal therapy. The laser really seems to lessen patient post operative pain and encourage quicker healing.

The LaserSmile uses the latest, most advanced state-of-the-art TCIA (Target Chromophore In-phase Accelerated-activation) whitening technology.  It provides gentle, safe, fast and effective whitening in as little as one hour.  Dr. Kapusianyk also uses it to treat gum disease and bio-stimulate unhealthy gums to heal.

The DIAGNOdent provides numerical information of demineralization enabling Dr. Kapusianyk to detect early cavity formation!  He can then preventively stop cavity progession while being minimally invasive.  This saves the removal of good tooth structure and makes a lot of sense.  Nothing is as good as our own teeth!  Are we giving you reason to smile?
